MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO.....

MISS ME - BUT LET ME GO

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me--but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the family we love & know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me - But Let me Go!

With the Mariner season coming up I can't help but think of my nephew, Donny. He was one of the biggest Mariner and Seahawk fans around. I wish I had a photo of him in Mariner clothes... I am sure he had them! Miss and love you Donny.... every day.... always!

Memories from Uncle Doug

Memories from Uncle Doug
If you could turn back the hands of time; what would we learn? My mind, with glee, return to an April day in 1970! I’ve been asked to drive to Yakima to give the Don, Lois and their new son a lift to Kingston. I recall seeing the most precious baby Donnie. Donnie’s dad didn’t know me from “Adam”, and the tales of our return drive through the canyon still brings palpitations to my heart. But, it didn’t remove my first impression that Donnie, even as an infant, oh! how he filled a room with beauty and grace. I few short years later the Culton’s had an intruder upon their household. Both Don & I were stationed at Fort Lewis and the Kid’s (Donnie and Denise) got a big dose of the lunacy of Uncle Doug. It’s funny, how you recall the sincere sweetness and love for both these little ones. As the distance of time and miles become a way of life in America. It has always been a joy to return to the family. I saw royalty in Donnie; confidence, strength and reinsurance as he developed into an adult. Sometime these images serve us better than trying to second guess events that turn things into a blur! We have been blessed with having a shinning star be a big part of our family! How do you fill the void left by Donnie’s departure – grab all the memories you can and lock them into your heart! I only wish that more opportunities existed to catch these “love” moments. Don’t forget to share your heart and love to those close to you.
